Disney and Marvel have confirmed they are going ahead with a sequel, with Chris Hemsworth definitely returning in the starring role. Unfortunately, Kenneth Branagh will not be back to direct, although his departure is described as "mutual and amicable" and that he might end up working on the film in a producing capacity. The studios have set a release date of July 26, 2013.

My girls back in town!

I'm really happy the girls are back on Criminal minds. Lets face is poor Rachel Nichols is always stuck with big shoes to fill (Alias anyone?) and she just never seems to get it right. I think the shit storm the fans kicked up might have also helped them back, and Im sure they both wanted their jobs back! the show does really well, I never understood why they shook it up so much. The good thing is now, getting them back, especially Emily/Lauren is going to be GOOD!

Cannes, Day 7

Today is day 7 and I feel like i've hit a bit of a plateau. Work has become a bit frustrating ( people not showing up for shifts shitty clots etc.) but it's not too bad really. Most of my co workers are doing a great job and alot of the clients I talk to are nothing by nice. I've gotta a few business cards so far and have made some decent contacts. Just found out 2 of the guys I've been talking to all week are the producers of black swan, and another just sold his film to paramOunt for obscene amounts of money. There is soMuch going on around pavilion, we are rolling on all clyinders all the time.

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to shoot my super 8 project ( thank you kodak for the free film!) with my friend Chris. We attempted to do a little stop motioning, but only time will tell if it worked out. I will be developing said project tonight from 8 till 3am in one of the mentors rooms. A couple of us have decided to just brig some wine and a case of beer and make a night it of it. Should be interesting.

Two nights ago I had a blast. I watched two movies in a row on the market and then headed down to the beach for one of the outdoor screenings and was lucky enough to catch, " Bollywood, the greatest love story of all time", so it was basically a Montage of all of the best scenes from Bollywood films over the years mixed in with interviews with famous Bollywood actors and actresses and directors. It was VERY cool! Also the festival did a really good job at setting the whole thing up. The set up hundreds of beech chairs all over the beach and handed out blankets to all of the participants to keeep everyone warm throughout the screening.

Tomorrow I work a day shift, the I'm going to run over to my mentors apartment because ymentire mentor group is having dinner together and hopefully doing a bit of partying...

Festival day 4 ( first week in Cannes)

So today marks my first week in Cannes and the 4th official day of the festivals. I woke up this morning feeling a tad bit fuzzy. Last night was the pavilions annual queer part. What a night! Drag queens, famous guests, free drinks, free fries... EPIC! Unfortunately tomorrow I have an early shift so tonight I've decided to take it easy. I saw my second movie today

" Attack the Block" a great British invasion comedy, and two days before I was lucky enough to attend a screening of Bertolucci's "The Conformist" which was so amazing, especially because he was on hand to person the newly restored version of the film. I'm glad to be getting such diverse films in, so far i've seen a classic and one market film.
One thing about he festival is that it is way more complex then most people know. It techincally is a festival, a film market, and it is accompanied by 2 other films festivals that go on at the exact same times as the film festival (Critcs week and the directors fortnight). All of this makes for hundreds or movies being shown a day ( the market alone screens 400 films a day) millions of dollars being thrown around and over 10,000 participants (buyers, sellers, producers). Cannes is an industry only festival ( I.e only industry professional can attend) but sociteties like the Cannes Cinephiles are also given films to show after they have premiere at the official festival, for their members to watch.
Like I said there is alot going on.
Today in particular was a busy day at the pavilion as we had many panels and round tables going, the production team, cast and Bethany hamilton from soul surfer came in to give a panel as well as many industry professionals, came in for round table discussions with SAGindie and the Ampav students.
Tomorrow starts with an early shift, hopefully and hora competition film, and maybe some practicing for my super 8 film.

Long hot day

Long day out in the sun, got the worlds weirdest burn, tired, trying to stay up until a decent hour. I'm so glad I arrived early and was able to overcome the jet lag before the festival started. Lots of people are jet lagged and have been partying and look and feel like shit.

One thing that I'm finding is that we have a lot less informational material available to us then i think some of us would have hoped. For example we don't get official programs ( we have to scavenge for them, some peoples whole job here revolves around getting us programs, goodie bags and tickets) and alot of stuff is decided last minute. So basically you need to check the Internet alot ( which unless you are at the pavilion is hard To come by) and keep checking the notice boards for panel announcements, round tables and workshops.

Tomorrow i work late so I'm gonna go the pavillion print out some extra info about all of the Canadien production companies at the market so I can visit them in the early afternoon.I also need to decide which red carpet screening i want to attend because i need to
Sign up in order to be in the raffle for tickets. I think at least 1 red carpet walk is mandatory at Cannes!

Also fun fact, kodak is one of our sponsors again this year and the are providing us with 40(!) rolls of their new super 8mm film (100asa) to shoot with, develop on our own, manually splice and screen on a projector on our last night at the festival! So freakin' excited for that!

Second day of orentation

So today is the second day of orentation, we got our job placements (working at the cyber cafe, helping people with the wi-fi) and luckily my first shift is a 4pm which means I will miss the red carpet screening for midnight in paris, but at least I have the whole day to sleep in, look around, visit the market and the booths and get a good feel for the place before I really get into it. I also wanna get and early start on coordinating my work schedule with films and I want to see and hopefully helping out a bit and the Quebec and Canadien pavilion. Later on we are doing our official tour of the palais and doing workshops with officials from the festival and then we're getting our official greeting from the pavilion owners and the main staff. Big day!

I swear every other montht there is a different rumor about this book.

According to the good people over at Screen Rant screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Fringe, Transformers, 5-0) have gotten thier hands on Enders Game and are shoppping around a script. These boys as just gonna reboot everything! Honestly, I'm usually a fan of what they do and I love the book. I09 also made a comment about how the movie might be difficult to market, and I agree, the whole thing may not transfer well to the screen at all. Apparently they've got Gavin hood on board (X-men Origins) and they're making the rounds. I wonder of OSC is going to feel about this?

Good News from TV land. Not only did fringe survive it's move to Friday nights, it won it's night AND it had a raised viewership!

By some miracle of magic or science, Fox’s Fringe moved to Friday night and did not go down in the ratings.

The episode — titled “The Firefly” (nicely ironic considering the show’s move to Fox’s infamous Death Slot) — actually improved upon its most recent Thursday performance.

Fringe, which featured Christopher Lloyd as a guest star, delivered 4.9 million viewers and a 1.9 preliminary adults 18-49 rating last night. That’s right in line with its Thursday season average. Remember, Fox’s Kevin Reilly said if the show maintains its Thursday numbers on Friday, he’d renew it, so let’s hope the drama can keep this up.

Interview between EW and the Produce of SMG new TV show Ringer

The networks have been on a pilot-greenlighting tear lately. But which possible show has the potential to be a gem of the 2011-12 season? We’ll go out on a limb here: CBS’ in-the-works thriller Ringer, which—should the pilot get the pickup to series during May’s network upfronts—would mark the much-anticipated return of Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar to regular series television. Granted, Gellar acolytes have been titillated by her possible return before with HBO’s The Wonderful Maladys, only to have the pilot never make it to series. But alas, the potential seems to be there with Ringer. Until now, the show has only been described as drama about “a troubled young woman on the run who hides out by living the life of her wealthy twin sister, until she learns her sibling’s life has a bounty on it as well.” Rather vague. Are you dying for more details? Us, too, so we tracked down Peter Traugott, the pilot’s producer and head of Brillstein Entertainment Partners, the production company behind Ringer, and grilled him about the pilot. Here, Traugott spills more about Ringer’s plot, its enviable star Sarah Michelle Gellar and getting her to come back to network television (she wanted to do cable!), and why the show is indeed a good fit for CBS.

WHAT IS RINGER EXACTLY? “It’s a thriller, for sure,” Traugott explains. “It’s an edgy thriller about redemption and about revenge. There’s a point of view of two twin sisters who grew apart over a tragedy in their past. And one now seeks redemption and the other one seeks revenge. The sister who is seeking redemption has had a much more troubled life. When her fancy pants sister disappears, she takes over her life. She’s living the life of her more successful sister only to come to find out that her life is equally as fraught with danger and complication. Her sister dies in a boating accident. The other sister takes on her persona, only to come to find out that they have a hit out on her.”

WHY CAST SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR? HOW’D YOU GET HER TO COME BACK TO NETWORK TV? “Sarah had started thinking about coming back to TV a couple of years ago and she really wanted it to be something in cable,” Traugott explains. “In part just because of the subject matter you’re able to do in cable. But network television now has cracked that door a little bit and they’ve obviously been doing great stuff in network—and great stuff in cable. Both places are great. And this was a spec script that we had found and my colleague, Rachel Kaplan, had found by these young writers [Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder of The CW's Supernatural] and we flipped for it. Sarah’s manager got it to her, and she fell in love with the piece, too. We had been talking about this group for over a year trying to figure this out. For Sarah, she wasn’t really sure about network just because she wasn’t sure she would get what she wanted. When CBS read this thing and flipped for it and loved Sarah for it, that kind of started her thinking about being more open-minded to doing network because of the subject matter and this piece that she was so excited about.”

DOES GELLAR PLAY BOTH SISTERS ROLES? Yes! “She plays two characters: One is Bridget, the sister who takes over Siobhan’s life—Siobhan’s the other sister. The sisters reunite after having been estranged for a long time, and when they reunite, Siobhan dies. She falls…you know, in a boating accident.” So it’s like Hayley Mills of Lindsay Lohan in The Parent Trap and its more modern remake? “Yeah,” Traugott admit, with a laugh. “That’s kind of a comedic reference, and a reference old old Westerns—yeah, Sarah’s playing both roles.”

IF SIOBHAN DIES EARLY, DO WE SEE HER IN FLASHBACKS—OR WHAT? Yes, exactly. “You’ll see her that way. Not necessarily tonally nor stylistically, but the show comparable to Damages. I love Damages—by the way, it’s my favorite show—but in the same way that Damages tells part of the story in the present, through the past. Not just flashbacks but through actual stories in the past. That’s what’s happening here. Hopefully if we go to series, the audience will come to understand what the fall out was between Siobhan and Bridget. Why Siobhan would never want to see her sister again, why Bridget was in a kind of dark place in her life—all that stuff will be told as we move forward in Bridget’s stories through flashbacks with Siobhan.

WILL BUFFY FANS BE PLEASED WITH THIS ROLE FOR GELLAR? Duh: yes! “For the Buffy fans, she wanted part of what she initiated. As a matter of fact, her and her manager know this, but I know one thing she wanted to guard against was making sure that she whatever she does in TV, she does something that her fans who had grown up loving Buffy will also be excited about. And we think this show has that quality to it.

HOW WILL THIS PLEASE BUFFY FANS EXACTLY? “It’s a very different show. I mean, Buffy is so specific and a great, cool genre piece,” Traugott says. “But in the same way with Sarah, I think what’s remarkable about her as an actor—and very few people have this ability—she can play both sides well. If you remember Cruel Intentions, she was the villain, but you found yourself kind of rooting for her anyway. That’s what we’re looking for. How do we find something where her character has some edge, there’s some darkness to her, she doesn’t always do the right thing, but at the end of the day, you’re also rooting for her? And that’s what we were looking for in this. Obviously, Buffy was a hero, a kick-ass hero, and we wanted to be true to that with Sarah.”

IS GELLAR’S BRIDGET SUPPOSED TO BE A HEROINE? “It’s not like that, no,” Traugott clarifies. “I wouldn’t say that. It’s not that kind of a show. It’s more of a thriller. But we think it shows a lot of different layers to Sarah, and her character is so interesting and compelling. Very different from the Buffy character, but there’s a lot there for the audience to grab onto.

WHAT’S THE FORMAT? PROCEDURAL? SERIALIZED? “There’s an overriding arc that the writers have kind of figured out for the first several seasons, if we get so lucky,” Traugott says. “But there’s an overriding arc in part of Bridget’s drive of trying to figure out who is trying to kill Siobhan and now her, in Siobhan’s shoes. And week in and week out we will be telling episodic stories, relationship stories, hopefully wish-fulfilling kind of stories, because she is living this kind of fantastical life all the while trying to figure out who’s after her. She’ll be with Siobhan’s husband, which is obviously new to her because she’s in a relationship with a man she doesn’t know but he thinks he knows her. She’ll be dealing with Siobhan’s friends, and they’ll be trying to kind of safe-crack this mystery.”

WHAT OPENED THE DOOR FOR A SHOW LIKE THIS ON CBS? HOW DOES IT FIT THAT BRAND? “You know, to read the script, you would not have thought CBS, but I think when [CBS’ entertainment president] Nina Tassler and her team read it and flipped for it, and we came in and talked about it, they had passion for this. They talk a lot about The Good Wife and how, a couple of years ago, you wouldn’t have thought that the The Good Wife was a CBS show. But you go from a CSI kind of a show—a pure procedural—to The Good Wife, which has a procedural element but it’s obviously very character-driven and has a lot of great story and characters on it. Hopefully, if we do it right, Ringer can be the next evolution of that. That is, on paper it’s not necessarily a CBS show but worked exceedingly well in that Good Wife way.”

WHAT’S THE PILOT’S PRODUCTION SCHEDULE LIKE? “We’re just ramping up now where we’re getting into casting, we’re getting into pre-production stuff, we’re getting into director,” Traugott says. “All of our stuff is starting now. The goal would be to shoot—you know, like all the other pilots—sometime in early to mid March.”

WHY IS GELLAR PERFECT FOR THIS ROLE? “I’m just a fan of Sarah’s,” Traugott says. “I’m excited that there’s a piece of material she’s excited about and obviously as a producer, I wanna get this show on the air, and as a big fan of Sarah’s, I just want to watch her on TV again. It seems like America wants to, and it seems like CBS was a fan from what I saw. Hopefully if we do our jobs right we’ll have an opportunity. We’re excited. She’s iconic.”

New Edgar Allen Poe pilot gets pick up!

There’s been a flurry of pilot pickups over the last 24 hours and I’ve been waiting for a truly intriguing one to kick off a rundown post and — hello — we have a winner: ABC has ordered a crime drama where Edger Allen Poe solves mysteries.

I know. It sounds like some kind of dream within a dream. But here’s the official description for Poe: “Crime procedural following Edgar Allan Poe as the world’s very first detective, using unconventional methods to investigate dark mysteries in 1840s Boston.”

Thus quoth the raven: “What the f–k?”

Literary figures are actually in vogue this pilot season with a couple Sherlock Holmes projects in the works too. And thing is, I’m making fun of this idea, but I would watch Poe in a heartbeat over most other more conventional shows that make it to this stage.

Also getting picked up are

-ABC’s Pan Am project is moving to pilot. Another intriguing period drama, this one is described as “a sexy soap set against the Jet-Age, focusing on the stewardesses and pilots and their glamorous world full of exciting adventures.”

– ABC’s Lost and Found is a multi-camera comedy about “a narcissistic New York City bartender and party girl has her life turned upside down when the conservative 18 year old son she gave up for adoption shows up on her doorstep.”

– ABC’s Work It, another multi-cam comedy, is about “two out of work car salesmen realize that it is now a woman’s world and decide that in order to find work again and succeed they are going to have to dress as women to get jobs as pharmaceuticals reps. Doing this inadvertently makes them better men, husbands and fathers but also makes them appreciate the sanctuary of their guy’s nights at the local bar where they can really be themselves.”

–NBC’s Special Investigations L.A., a drama in the style of Traffic, set in the world of crime, law enforcement, and politics in modern-day Los Angeles.

While none of these other float my boat, TV is in desperate need of new blood. I've been supremely unmotivated TV wise recently and I choose to blame it on TV.

Glad to see that these nominations haven't been bought, unlike the globes. Solid group of nominees, especially in the female driven roles. The best actors categories were a joke at the Globes, glad to see that this list makes a bit more sense! This list also intensifies my need to see Winter's Bone. I LOVE John Hawkes and I just realized he's in it. Must see! Other then that the only Oscar contenders that I haven't seen that I would like to are The King's Speech, The Kids are Alright and 127 Hours. Usually I do much worse.

While I have no seen Vampires Suck or Bounty Hunter, I am assured they both suck(although I feel like in the case of Vampires Suck, it was more like done on purpose) I can definitely vouch for the crappiness of the other films.

Sex in the City 2 was the most Americentric crap I have seen in ages. It's trite, it's insensitive, it's offensive and IT'S NOT FUNNY. I'm not even a fan of the franchise and I really enjoyed the first movie. The second seems to be like the worst episode they ever made with the bigger budget and less graphic sex scenes.

The Last Airbender is so bad there are only 3 things that happen. Some one has a big explanatory speech, some one says "We have to go ___" and that is followed by a big fight scene. They then do the same thing over and over again until the film ends.
The problem with this film is they thought they were so cool, no one would notice how bad the story was. Well guess what, when you treat audiences like they are stupid they figure it out and get pissed! Also the cast should have been a mix of many races (as they are in the comics) instead of the white guys = good guys, non white guys = bad guys, like in this film. Critics accusing this film of "whitewashing" are not wrong. I wonder what Shyamalan was thinking, letting this casting go through. And for someone who usually has a nack for complex scripts this one seems to have been written by a monkey who signed Shyamalans name.

As for Eclipse lets just say the only way I was able to sit through this movie was by playing a drinking game against Taylor Lautners abs (ie everything he was shirtless I would drink). Needless to say I lost horribly and was so drunk I had to be helped out of the theater. My condolences got to the people who are working on the film who actually have talent (ie Melissa Rosenberg, screenwriter), I hope the paycheck was worth it.
I also love that they have a category solely for sequels, prequels and remakes as well as a new category for worse use of 3D.

Any other films you think should have been nominated? Think any of this actors will pull Sandra's or Halle's and actually show up to accept their awards?

Women in Refrigerators (or WiR[1]) is a website that was created in 1999 by a group of comic book fans. The "Women in Refrigerators Syndrome" describes the use of the death or injury of a female comic book character as a plot device in a story starring a male comic book character. The website features a list of female comic book characters that had been injured, killed, or depowered as a plot device within various superhero comic books. Also, the site seeks to analyze why these plot devices are used disproportionately on female characters.
The term "Women in Refrigerators" was coined by writer Gail Simone as a name for the website in early 1999 during on-line discussions about comic books with friends. Some great points in this article. While some of these assumptions may seem unfair, I defiantly agree that if you kill off all of the good relateable female characters, females wont wanna read these. Times have changed, especially with the success of female centric comics, like Buffy etc, but this for sure still happens.

It would be so amazing if he ended up being one of the speakers I get to see this year at the pavilion. I still can't believe how lucky I am to be going on this trip. Residents of Beebe woke up New Years day to find hundreds of dead blackbirds littering the streets of their town. Last year there were floods and this year dead black birds. Authorizes think it's high altitude weather conditions (have I been watching too much X-Files or does that just reek of cover up?) io9 thinks it's Romulan War birds. Personally I'm going to stick with the classics; all out apocalypse.

Sad news coming out today. Geraldine Doyle, the inspiration for Rosie the Riveter has died. Poster child for the war time American Women movement, encouraging women to leave the home and begin working in factories, she was just 17 years old when artist J Howard Miller took her photograph wearing a red polka dot bandanna and leaning over a machine. The "We can do it" motto and poster have since become a iconic image for women's workers rights and feminism in general.

This is interesting! While I can't attest to the credibility of this information, this news is very exciting. I'm sure they aren't gonna do Tudyk AND Fillion, just Tudyk would be amazing! He was amazing in both Firefly as well as in Dollhouse, two roles which are extremely different, but equally as complex and satisfying so I feel that he could definitely embody the role of super hero very well. And with an established director like Wright helming this I feel like this is in good hands. All that's left to do is brush up on my Ant Man universe. Looking froward to the upcoming developments of this projects.

I love that they cast a relatively unknown guy for this. This whole emerging Marvel-verse is very exciting. Sure it's not what all of the die hards are looking for, but for the non die hard coming book readers such as myself, this film is very appealing. And with Nathalie Portman involved it's gonna be good! Lets be honest, she's one of the greatest actresses of our generation.
Along with Captain America (love the flash back) this and avengers are what I cam most looking forward too Marvel-wise.

A Swedish appellate court late today (Friday) upheld the convictions of three operators of the Pirate Bay website, Frederik Neij, Peter Sunde and Carl Lundström for what was called “contributory copyright infringement” and sentenced them to prison and ordered them to pay damages of more than $6.5 million. In its ruling, the court said, “The Pirate Bay has facilitated illegal file-sharing in a way that results in criminal liability for those who run the service.
For the three defendants the court of appeal believes it is proven that they participated in these activities in different ways and to varying degrees.” The court reserved the harshest sentence for co-founder Neij, who was ordered to spend 10 months in jail. Sunde, the Pirate Bay’s spokesman, who resigned in 2009 after the lower court’s verdict, was sentenced to eight months in prison. Receiving the lightest prison sentence — four months — was Carl Lundström, a wealthy businessman who financed the ISP that hosted The Pirate Bay. Although all three were ordered to pay total damages of $6.5 million, only Lundström, it would seem, has the means to pay any of it — and will probably wind up paying all of it. Following the verdict, the Motion Picture Association (MPA), which represents the major studios overseas, issued a statement saying that it welcomed it and added, “This confirms that such activities are illegal and if you engage in them, you run the risk of very significant consequences.”

Being poor and illegal on the internet is getting harder and harder. I really hope they are putting as much effort in squashing kiddy porn as the are making sure I don't download episodes of Fringe.

Two weeks is a long time

This is why Fringe is the only show I am actually watching right now. While other shows have become repetitive or simply lost my interest, Fringe continues to be the best show on television. Twice the character development as other shows, all the action, infinite continuity and half the calories! Also it somehow manages to be both funny, touching, and sexy. The bad guys are complex, watchable and exciting, I mean, how much do you love to hate Walternate? And no matter how bad Fauxlivia is, you really wanna like her... at least I do. It's also nice to now have villains we know. And not only do we know them, they are the alt version of the main characters. I can only imagine how interesting it must be for these actors to be playing two sides of these character. The alt teams also allows to have Charlie back (who I missed), and see Olivia in a new team dynamic.

All in all Fringe is the best show on television you are probably not watching. It's the best of Alias and The X-Files all rolled into one.

Hectic Week

Last night officially wrapped up one of the more nutso weeks in my recent history. Work + Volunteering @ the Cinemania Film festival and trying to have a social life (Mumford and Sons concert + Friends + being interviewed for the Concordian) had left me tired and with and extremely sore back (which is actually getting me worried because it wont go away) so today is a chill day

Cinemania Montreal

Cinemania was awesome! Alot of early mornings (followed by late nights at the resto and then more early mornings) were kind of a killer, but they allowed me to really connect with the event organizers who were all super awesome ladies. I also allowed me to see a bunch of free films ( La Reine des Pommes (2/5), Bazar (3/5) Tout ce qui Brille (3/5) Sommeil Blanc (2/5), L'Enfance du Mal (3/5), Dumas (3/5), Illegal (4/5) and Potiche (4/5)) all in french with English subtitles. Having never volunteered at a film festival before I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed my experience. I'm told not all festivals are as well presented and I totally believe it. i am therefore excited to volunteer again and total wary of it at the same time.

Next on the docket was the Mumford concert. As usual they were amazingly breath taking.
Super big props as well to their opening acts this time around, King Charles and Cadillac Sky.

Caddilac was alot of fun but I cant seem to find them online, and King Charles was actually kind of amazing

He played the entire set by himself with just a guitar, except for the opening song which he did accapella and it actually stopped my heart and made me do a double take while in line for coat check.

But unfortunate by the time Mumford came on the same problem arose as last time: the crowd SUCKED! I don't know what is wrong with people these days but they lack any kind of concert etiquette. Drunks yelling, girls squealing, people interrupting the band. it was so frakin' annoying.

Also the show lasted 3 and a half hours! Which was awesome yet very exhausting.

So good week, glad it's over, back to applying for jobs.

David Duchovny Says X-Files 3 is Being Written

French website TVMag caught up with David Duchovny and asked him for an update on the third "X-Files" movie, which the actor previously said would focus on December 2012, an important date in the franchise.

"It is being written," said the actor, adding: "We're waiting for the green light from 20th Century Fox, which is a little disappointed by the relatively poor reception of the second film. The mistake, in my opinion, is that the writers strayed too far from the roots of the series. Plus the film was released in the summer. The third movie will be much closer to what the fans are used to, which is government conspiracies, etc..."

Both Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have expressed interest in returning for the third film, which is likely aiming to hit theaters at the end of 2012 to match up with the rumored "end of the world" storyline.

This would make my lifetime!

I also agree with David Duchovany comment on the second film. It deviated a bit too much from the tone and themes of the series. I don't even think the story line was evengood enough to warrant Scully and Mulder even being implicated, why would they both come out of retirement because some women went missing (not that thats not a big deal it's just not really their thing) after all htey've been to and all they walked away from I just don't see the case presented in IWTB as being credible. I'm sure the release of Dark Knight also had something to do with it but it is a good point. Fight the Future, was a much better and successful film, released at the height of the shows success, it introduced new mysteries and solved old one, it was much more in tune with the original series. I'd also like to see Doggett and Reyes in the new film... scratch that... just Doggett. I was shocked that they weren't even mentioned in "I Want to Believe" (unless I'm not remembering it correctly), even though I hated Reyes, I loved Doggett and I feel like the storyline felt a little empty with no metion of the actual X-Files.

My suggestion for the new film is, bring back Doggett, make Duchovny shape up (seriously he look tied and fat in IWTB), bring back the X-Files, and solve some of those pesky loose ends that were left at the end of the series. Also BRING BACK KRYCEK! Best Villian EVER!

Speaking of forgotten photo posts, I took these photos last mother while LF and I made "Ketchup aux Fruits", basically it's fruit ketchup, but French Canadien (and by basically I mean exactly but I just say it in french cause it's my Grand Mammans famous recipe) and it's awesome! It took us a whole afternoon, like 40 tomatoes, a whole head of celery, 30 some apples etc. etc. etc. Needless to say by the end my hands were cramped, and stung from all the acidity but it was totally worth it!

Took these puppys in August and just plum forgot to post them. I was location scouting for Project Cross Match and I had to stop for gas. I've always loved the water tower, and the "Bar Ormstown/Bar Harem/Club O-Town" is the local dive/strip club, that everyone is scared to go into for far of the HIV and saggy strippers. It's basically used to launder money... or so everyone assumes. As far as I know it doesn't do any actual business. The barn is my uncles, and is very old and sorta falling apart.
As much as I some times try to stay away I do find inspiration in my home town. Now all I need to do is buy myself and actual camera s that I wont have to steal my moms all the time.

So here it is, I was on the fence about Torchwood USA. With the UK version in limbo (seriously where are they gonna go?) and stateside versions usually sucking (ie the new skins trailer and the new being human cast) Torchwood USA didn't really seem like it would be any good. That is until this little tibit of casting news hit the inter net and VOILA! Colour me interested!

So here's the sitch, they pick Gjokaj i'm in for the party, he's got torchwood written all over him and has some serious talent. They pick CMM and they obviously have no tastes and are going for the easy hottie to attract viewer, and that is just not a show I am interested in.

For the Unite in the Fight non profit AE and I did this promo for one of their fundraisers. I'm actually really happy at how it turned out considering we shot it in two days and Final cut crashed on me and I had to use imovie (yes imovie) to chop and crop the whole thing together!

And this little number is for the Restaurant le Riverains annual breast Cancer fundraiser, which I again have the honour of taking part in. Great resto, even greater cause!

Nothing but good news coming out of Warner Bros concerning HP7. Plans for a 3D conversion have been scrapped due to time constraints. I am very happy with this news. 2D to 3D conversions are hideous. It only sucks because that's why they pushed it back in the first place. originally it was supposed to premier this past summer but was postponed to make the conversion. The article reference Clash of the Titans as an example of bad 3D conversion and I agree. If your not gonna shot it in 3D don't bother converting it. It just wastes time and looks like balls.
